Where wildlife pastures and open grasslands have succumb to scrub encroachment with bramble, gorse, hawthorn and tree saplings moving in due to under grazing and lack of management we have the answer.
We offer a heavy duty cut and collect flail mower which will produce a good quality of cut on under grazed pastures and deal with trees and scrub up to 3” (75mm) diameter and everything in between.
It is ideal for cutting wildlife conservation meadows and pastures which would traditionally have been mown for hay in late summer after wild flowers had set their seed. Using the cut and collect mower is a more cost effective way of achieving the same ends: removing all the cuttings from site and so preventing nutrient enrichment which is so important in maintaining the floristic diversity on these sites.
In a similar vein, wildflower seed can just as easily be harvested from species rich wildflower meadows and spread at other sites to increase the compliment of wildflower species.
We can also achieve similar benefits on lowland heathland restoration projects where overgrown heather can be cut & collected while in seed and then this material can be spread on new areas to create new heathland.
